Unique Tiger's Eye Earrings with Woodpecker Dangles in Sterling Silver

Tiger Eye, Sterling | Earrings
Unique handcrafted sterling silver woodpecker earrings with beautiful Tiger's Eye stud posts. I chose cabochons with vertical striping to suggest a tree.

To make these earrings, I start with just sterling silver sheet metal and wire. I hand-saw-cut the woodpeckers from a double thickness of sheet solid sterling silver so that the two birds are perfectly mirror-imaged. I also hand-fabricated the stud post surround, bezel cups for the stones, and forged and textured the wire the woodpecker is clinging to.

~~~Measures 1 11/16" from the top of the stud to the bottom of the dangle.
~~~Measure 1 1/2" from the post to the bottom of the dangle.
~~~Width of the dangle is 1/2".
~~~Each earring weighs about 2.8 grams, and the dangle portion is approximately 1.0 grams.
~~~Stud posts are 20g sterling silver,
