I have hand-fabricated these earrings in my Florida studio and feature a pair of Turritella Agate stones from the Green River Formation in Wyoming. The colors are dark chocolate brown, black and cream and the pattern is due to fossilized snail shells that the agate formed around.

~~~The ear wires are 20g sterling silver to which I added a leaf detail.
~~~The earrings measure 2 1/8" long from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the dangle and the stones are 7/16" wide.
~~~The bird dangles are solid sterling silver and measure 1/2" x 13/16".
~~~Each earring weighs approximately 4.5 grams

To make these earrings, I hand saw-cut the birds from a sheet of solid sterling silver. All the pieces and parts of this design are also solid sterling silver. I started with sheet and wire and hand-fabricated the ear wires, bezel cups for the stones, and all the design elements, including adding a pretty botanical pattern to the back of the stone area.
