Artisan metalsmith jewelry individually handcrafted by Tampa, Florida silversmith Linda P Smith from sterling silver, copper and glass enamel. Her current collections of rings, earrings and necklaces have bird, flower and organic themes.

Silversmith Apache Gold Earrings in a Contemporary Setting

Sterling | Earrings
The beautifully patterned cabochons, tradenamed Apache Gold, are the star here. Apache Gold is not truly gold metal. The stones have a black schist body with golden-colored chalcopyrite flecks embedded within and are mined in Arizona. These stones have a modern feel so I chose a contemporary dot theme to coordinate with the golden flecks.

I start with just solid sterling silver sheet metal and wire. On the reverse, I've impressed a dot pattern and on the front, I've added trios of sterling silver dots on either end of the golden 'stripe' and repeated the trio of dots on the handmade ear wires.

Measures 2 1/4" from the top of the sterling silver ear wires to the bottom of the dangles and 13/16" wide.
