Long New Lander Earrings in Sterling Silver with Jasper Beads
Unique bird earrings hand-fabricated by me from solid sterling silver sheet metal and wire. These earrings feature a pair of golden yellow/beige New Lander variscite stones and green jasper bead dangles with carved leaf veinings.
~~~The ear wires are 20g sterling silver, to which I forged a tiny leaf detail.
~~~The earrings measure 3 1/8" long from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the dangle, and the stones are 5/8" wide.
~~~The bird dangles are solid sterling silver and measure 5/8" x 11/16".
~~~Each earring weighs approximately 4.6 grams
To make these earrings, I hand-saw-cut the birds from a sheet of solid sterling silver. All the pieces and parts of this design are also solid sterling silver. I started with sheet and wire and hand-fabricated the ear wires, bezel cups for the stones, and all the design elements, including adding texture and leaf cut-outs to the backs of the stone areas.
