Silversmith Made Black Coral Earrings with Fleur De Lis Stud Posts
The patterning on these Black Coral stones drove this design for these one-of-a-kind earrings. To complement, and echo, the patterning, I handmade the stud posts by hammering solid sterling silver into a metal form, then cutting out the shape. I also customized the bezel with lines, made the decorative hang loop with a steel form, and saw-cut a window in the reverse to show more of the stones.
Colors are black with shades of grey.
~~~The ear posts are 20g sterling silver.
~~~Extra-large sterling silver ear nuts (see photo).
~~~The earrings measure 1 13/16" from the top of the earrings to the bottom of the dangle, 1 5/8" from the stud post to the bottom of the dangle, and 5/8" wide.
~~~Each earring weighs approximately 5.6 grams, and the dangle approximately 4.2 grams.
