Silversmith earrings handmade, by me, in my Florida studio. To make these earrings, I started with fine (pure) silver, for the bezel around the stone, and solid sterling silver in various forms for the rest of the elements.
For the earwires, I started by melting sterling bits into a ball, hammering the ball into a flower-shaped steel form, and then cutting out the flower with a saw. I soldered another tiny silver ball to the flower center then soldered the flower to a sterling silver wire which I formed into the earwire.
For the backplate of the Mariposa stones, I used sterling silver that I reticulated (such a cool organic look!) and accented the setting with leaves that I forged from the melted ends of sterling wire and curled sterling wire to suggest vine tendrils.
Measures approx 2-1/8” from the top of the stud to the bottom of the dangle and the stone dangle is 1/2" wide.
This is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted item and you will receive the exact pair of earrings in the photo.
