Artisan metalsmith jewelry individually handcrafted by Tampa, Florida silversmith Linda P Smith from sterling silver, copper and glass enamel. Her current collections of rings, earrings and necklaces have bird, flower and organic themes.

Fluorite Necklace, Hand Fabricated Sterling Silver, Seascape Design

This Seascape theme necklace is hand fabricated from fine and sterling silver with a round Fluorite stone to suggest a tropical sunset. The necklace includes a sterling silver chain that is adjustable in length from 16" to 19". The pendant measures 3/4" in diameter and the stone is 10mm in diameter.

To handcraft this pendant, I start with sheet silver. In this case, I chose fine silver for the back plate (as well as the bezel surrounding the stone) to minimize tarnishing. I want the translucent Fluorite stone to always look bright. The rest of the design and the hidden bail are made from sterling silver.
