Woven Sterling Silver Earrings, Handcrafted Silversmith Dangles
Unique basketweave earrings in sterling silver. To make these earrings, first, I made the framework, then I wove narrow strips of patterned sterling silver into the frame and securely soldered each endpoint. For the ear wires, I first melted scrap sterling, which naturally forms a ball when melted, and hammered the ball into a decorative form to make the flower. I then soldered the flower to sterling wire and shaped the ear wire.
~~~The ear wires are 20g sterling silver, to which I added a solid sterling silver flower.
~~~From the top of the Sterling silver ear wire to the bottom of the dangle is 2 7/16" and 9/16" wide.
~~~Each earring weighs approximately 4.0 grams
