Original design and one-of-a-kind, I created these earrings from solid sterling silver cut-offs from other projects. When working on projects, I often saw-cut shapes and save all cut-offs. Sometimes I melt the scraps for balls or new sterling sheet metal, but this time I challenged myself to use the pieces 'as-is'. Each mushroom is made from four pieces of sterling silver and the earrings are mirror-imaged.

I added a botanical stamped design to the mushroom cap and curved the cap before soldering it to a stem, giving these earrings a pleasing 3D effect.

I also handcrafted the ear wires. The flower detail started as a solid sterling ball (created from melted scrap) and I hammered the ball into a tiny pattern form to impress a flower design.

Measures approx 1 9/16” from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the dangle and 15/16" at the widest point of the dangle.
